Prologue
One day while walking through the elven forest of Iyanna, 1700
years old (elves can live for a long time) Kamara, the elven princess heard a faint unfamiliar noise. She followed the noise
through the trees with her black hair trailing behind her. Her silky lavender gown swept the ground behind her. She suddenly sensed
the presence of a baby and that seemed to be crying. She got worried and thought that the baby might be hurt so she ran
even faster looking for the little baby. As soon as she had reached a clearing, the crying
had already stopped.
Kamara’s amethyst eyes spied a
tiny whimpering baby. It was in the center of the clearing wrapped in some dirty
ripped cloths and it seemed that it was abandoned. She slowly approached the baby and picked her up.
Then, the baby suddenly started to cry again. As she gazed down at the crying baby, she noticed that there were
many cuts and bruises all over her body. Kamara quickly muttered a spell and most of them healed. Some of the injuries
didn't heal and left permanent scars.
A mysterious crescent shape
suddenly appeared on the baby’s
forehead and started to glow. At the same time, Kamara suddenly heard a voice in her head. It kept repeating
something that Kamara couldn’t understand. Then the voice stopped and the glowing on the baby’s forehead stopped abruptly.
It seemed like it was in another language. She muttered a spell to see if she could find the owner of the voice
but her spell bounced off the persons mind and she couldn’t track it. Whoever did that must have
been a strong-willed person that must have known elite magic skills to bounce back a spell because Kamara knew very
advanced magic that couldn’t even be blocked by the kings wizard.
Kamara decided to try to find
out the owner of the mysterious voice when she had some spare time. Right now, she had to care for the baby. The baby
was abandoned out in the middle of the woods so there were no possible ways for it to survive with all the wild
animals living in the forest. Somehow, the baby had survived. It was amazing to think that a baby was out in
the forest all alone and had survived all the animals that many brave men had died fighting.
Since the baby was abandoned, Kamara thought that it was ok for her to keep her. She walked back to the city with the
child in safely tucked in her arms.

There once was a legendary sword called
Tsurugi. It was said that this sword had extraordinary powers. It could bring about a great slaughter or bring an era of peace
to the land.
Unfortunately, this sword fell into the
hands of a wonderful king. Although the king was
wise, he was very foolish to even think of keeping something that was very dangerous. But he was king and could make the laws
of the city so he kept the sword. There were a few attempts to steal Tsurugi that nearly cost him his life but he still
insisted on keeping it. The once kind and wise king had now become cruel and devoted only to the sword.
Years past and he paid no attention to political affairs.
He would only stay locked away in his room admiring the silver color of Tsurugi not even coming out to eat. Sometimes
he would go for weeks without eating a bite. Without his leadership and guidence, the city was falling apart. There were
mass killings and without a king to punish the evildoers, there were just more brutal murders every day.
One day, the king stepped outside his room and decided to go take a walk in
the palace gardens. This was a very rare event but there not a soul was there to witness it. He would usually never leave
his room without a good reason but today, he just had this feeling that he couldn't ignore. Something or someone was
waiting for him out there but he didn't know if that person or thing was a friend or foe. He also had a nagging feeling in
the back of his head that something was wrong.
When he took a step outside with Tsurugi safely at his side,
he took in a fresh breath of the morning air and felt more refreshed then he had in years. He wandered off to the small pond
in the garden and fell back when he glanced into it. What he saw couldn't be human but a demon of some kind. However, he soon
realized that this was no demon. This was nothing that could harm him. It was just his own reflection. When he looked again
hoping that his eyes had fooled him, his eyes met the same image as before. What he saw was something that practically looked
like a skeleton. The only difference was it had flesh and hair only the hair was grey and falling out. Even a skeleton would
look livelier than he would at this point.
Suddenly, he heard something moving behind him. When he turned
around, he saw a hooded figure clothed in black. As he reached for Tsurugi, his hand grasped air. Then the stranger suddenly
spoke in a soft, wispy voice, "Looking for this?" and they unsheathed a sword that the king instantly recognized as Tsurugi.
It was slightly different though. It seemed to give off a pale blue light when this stranger was holding it that it had
never done when he held it. He was scared. He didn't know how this person could have gotten his hands on Tsurugi and
he was also unarmed. "Don't worry. I'm not going to hurt you. I am only here to retrieve the sword." the stranger said while
lowering the weapon. “You see, this is one of the most dangerous items one
can come across. You have been most unfortunate to come across it. But, you were still lucky. Most of the previous owners,
which are many, have often died from trying to protect the sword or insanity. You should actually thank me from releasing
you from its grip on your life when you stepped out here." When the stanger stopped speaking, they started
pacing along the wall of the castle gardens.
The king was now thoroughly confused. How did this person know so much
about Tsurugi? And how did he release its grip on his life? Wasn't he the owner of the sword? Shouldn't he be in control of
the sword? "Actually, it's the other way around." the stranger said suddenly. "Whoever is in possession of the sword will
surely be cursed the moment they touch it. And if they hold on to it for a long enough time, the sword will slowly take control
of the "owner". There is a condition that cannot be avoided if you live though. You will become a ghost. You will be
trapped inside limbo until the day arrives when you have found the person destined to weild this sword. You shall then lead
them to this portal that I have drawn on this wall with the sword and lead them through it. If they are destined to weild
Tsurugi, the portal will ativate and they will gain possesion of this sword. But if they are not, they too will meet
the same fate as you. Don't worry. When you meet the right person, you will know. Only then will you finally be put into your
eternal slumber."
The king suddenly realized that the stranger had drawn an intricate
portal circle on the wall of his garden. He still did not fully understand his task but he didn't think he had to do this.
He was king after all. Was he not able to do what he wanted? "No," the hooded stanger said in a pained voice. "You are supposed
to do what is good for your city. That should be your first priority! Instead, you chose to stay locked inside your room admiring
your sword and abandoning your kingly duties and your great city. You should take a look outside to see what this has
done to the wonderful people of your kingdom. You were once a kind king but look what has happened to you. You should be ashamed
of yourself. But now you will pay the price." Then the stranger stepped back and muttered something under their breath.
The wind suddenly picked up and blew off the strangers hood revealing a pale young girl girl around the age of 15 years.
She looked straight into the kings eyes with her vivid violet-blue eyes that seemed to pierce the very soul. The
wind whipped her long black hair around her face as shadows crept up her legs. The shadows grew and soon swallowed
the girl up and showed no trace of her ever existing.
The king didn't believe it. His precious sword was gone. He staggered back inside the castle
looking for someone to comfort him but found only the dust that had been gathering on everything. When he found
his way outside looking for some comfort, he ended up finding the remains of his once grand kingdom. The whole place was deserted.
The only thing he found were skeletons laying on the ground with arrows and knives still in them. Everyone had left him. He
finally understood what that girl was trying to tell him. If only he had decided not to keep Tsurugi. But he could not change
the past. He could only change the future. He then decided that he would find the person destined to weild the powerful
sword and could only hope that what had happened to him would not end up happening to anyone else.
